FAQ
Do I need to dismantle my furniture or vacate my home during the replacement works?
No. You can occupy your home as normal throughout the refurbishment operation. All that needs to be done is to move smaller pieces of furniture to one side and remove any curtains or decoration. We will carefully cover over the floor and any remaining furniture.
What will happen to my old windows?
You do not need to do anything there. We will take away the old window frames and glass panes for proper, eco-efficient recycling.
Can windows also be replaced in winter?
Yes, of course! Your home will not be stripped back to the structural shell. And our installer teams replace the windows room by room, which will prevent your house from cooling down. Finstral’s intelligent slide-in installation method generally ensures that a window opening is completely uncovered for only a short time. So window replacements are unproblematic even in colder weather.
Do I need to ventilate differently after having new windows installed (risk of mould)?
As many old windows are not airtight, they bring about a continuous, unwanted exchange of air. Finstral’s state-of-the-art windows, by contrast, provide your home with a 100 % airtight seal to maximise savings on heating energy. This also prevents the automatic extraction of indoor humidity. Which makes regular “shock” ventilation (2–3 times a day) essential for preventing mould growth. On request, we can directly incorporate intelligent ventilation systems in your new windows.
